Why are people like this!

Mon Apr 3, 2006, 4:33 AM
I know it's been forever since last I wrote here. And I can say I have a good reason. Resently I've had some medical issues that I have taken up a bit of my time. I'm on the mend now so there's no worries there. But I come across some rather disturbing practices of late that have really pissed me off!!!!

Alot of the models here on DA are not proffesionals in any stretch of the imagination. Most of us have regular jobs, families and whatnot! What we do here is a labor of love and a pasttime that we enjoy! But for some reason there seems to be a growing number of people who love to bash what we do. Bash both the photographer and the model. BS!!!!! We don't do what we do to please others. We do this because we love it! It's a passion! Even a fetish in some circles. We want to take what we love and share it with the world.

Enter.....a TROLL!!!! Either it's a teenager with to much time on their hands or a middle aged man with too much time on his hands. And they have nothing better to do then to bash the work of some very talented photographers and models here on DA. I want to pose some questions to these bashers.......where is your art work? What gives you the right to cast stones at others work? Are you an expert? An up and coming in the work of art photography? I doubt it very seriously! My husband and I are amauteurs in every since of the word. But we love what we do! We love sharing our passions with the world/DA! Ok.....enough about the JERKS that love to ruin other peoples days!!!!

My husband and I are FINALLY going on our honeymoon! We've been married almost 6 months now and we're preparing to get away for a week. As cliche as it sounds...we are heading up to Niagara Falls, Canada! We are both hoping to get some shoots in while we are there. Now granted this is the long await vacation for both of us...we still want to try to get some play work in while we are at it! So hopefully we'll have some new stuff to post once we get back from our much anticipated and deserved vacation.

Talk to everyone soon! Love to all! :rose: :rose: :rose:

Kristina,
Just popping in to praise the work that your husband and you compose, shoot and produce. The subtlety of fetish is what drives what is a sexual or an arousing object of someone's desire. If they want something that isn't that, then they can always go 'hardcore'. Good lord, there's enough of that out there :) ..(I wouldn't know about these sort of things ) ;)

However, to answer the questions you pose:
1)What do you consider a fetish?
Everything from being punctual to the touch or feel or sight of an attractive lady in heels, good clothes (whatever that ensemble is, is up to the individual), good conversation and a broad mind.

2) Do all fetishes have to be sexual or sensual in nature?
Certainly not. I'm a stickly for punctuality.

3) Who has the right to judge what the creator considers art?
in reality: no-one. However, the society we live in does put certain mores on us (just think of all those latent victorian values that we still cling to).

So that's my contribution....

Great work... and in the immortal words of Oliver Twist: Can I have more, please? :)
